No-Drill Blinds for uPVC Windows and Doors

Most no-drill blinds fit straight onto the frame around each pane of a uPVC window or door, so there are no screws and no holes drilled into your frames. Roller blinds are the usual choice, and pleated and Venetian versions are available too. There's also an adhesive pleated option that fixes to the glass itself. Each blind sits neatly within its own pane, close to the glass, which keeps the window looking tidy and lets in more natural light. Whether a no-drill system will suit your windows depends on the frames themselves, so we always check them at your free home visit before recommending one.

Which Windows and Doors Suit No-Drill Blinds?

Framed no-drill systems are designed for uPVC windows and doors. They clip into the frame around the glass, so the frame needs enough depth for the blind to sit securely: at least 18mm for Perfect Fit. They're a popular choice for conservatories, tilt-and-turn windows and bi-fold doors, and on tilt-and-turn windows the blinds stay in place when the window tilts or opens.

Our adhesive pleated option (Cruze) fixes to the glass instead of the frame, so it can also suit aluminium and wooden frames, triple glazing with very shallow beading, and bi-fold doors with deep, square-edged recesses. It offers top-down, bottom-up operation too, so you can open the top for light while keeping privacy below.

Roof windows are different. For Velux roof windows we fit Velux blinds, and these, like most roof window blinds, do need drilling. We check your frames at the free home visit and will tell you honestly which option works.

  • Framed no-drill blinds — uPVC windows, conservatories, tilt-and-turn windows and bi-fold doors with enough depth around the glass (18mm minimum for Perfect Fit)
  • Adhesive pleated option — aluminium or wooden frames, triple glazing with shallow beading, and deep square-edged bi-fold recesses
  • Roof windows — Velux blinds, which need drilling

Roller, Pleated or Venetian: Choosing Your No-Drill Blind

Every no-drill blind is made to measure for the individual pane. There are three styles to choose from, and performance fabrics are available in blackout, thermal and heat-reflective options.

  • Roller — a clean, simple blind and the usual starting point for no-drill, normally operated by a chain
  • Pleated — a softer, folded-fabric finish, tensioned and hand operated, with an adhesive top-down, bottom-up version
  • Venetian — tensioned and hand operated, with slats you can tilt for precise control of light and privacy
  • Perfect Fit and Simple Fit — slim frames that clip neatly into place, made by different manufacturers
  • INTU — hidden tension channels for a clean, frame-free finish

How Measuring and Fitting Work

Because each blind is made for a specific pane, accurate measuring matters. We do it for you at a free home visit: we check each frame, measure every pane and talk you through the styles and fabrics. Home visits are usually available within 2–3 working days in our coverage area.

You'll receive a no-obligation quotation. Once you're happy, your blinds are made to measure and our trained fitting team comes back to fit them, usually 3–4 weeks after measuring. All our blinds come with a minimum 3-year guarantee (1 year on commercial installations). You're also welcome to visit our Royston showroom first.

Child Safety

We only supply blinds that meet UK child safety standards. No-drill pleated and Venetian blinds are tensioned and hand operated, with no loose cords. Roller blinds usually use a chain, which needs more care around young children, so for a nursery or child's bedroom a pleated or Venetian no-drill blind may be the better choice. We'll talk it through at your home visit, and you can read more in our child safety guide.

When a Standard Blind Is the Better Choice

A no-drill blind isn't always the best answer. If your frames aren't suitable, or you'd rather have one blind covering the whole window instead of a blind on each pane, a standard made-to-measure blind may suit you better.

Our Roller Blinds, Roman Blinds and Wood Venetian Blinds are made to measure and fitted by our team, and Vertical Blinds work well across wide windows and patio doors. We'll talk you through both options at your home visit so you can compare.

Some Common Questions about No Drill Blinds

What are No Drill Blinds?

No-drill blinds attach directly to uPVC window or door frames using a clip or tension system, so there's no need for drilling or screws.

What window types are suitable?

Framed systems such as Perfect Fit suit uPVC windows and doors with enough depth around the glass (at least 18mm for Perfect Fit), including conservatories, tilt-and-turn windows and bi-fold doors. Our adhesive pleated option fixes to the glass, so it can also suit aluminium and wooden frames. We check yours at the free home visit.

What styles are available?

You can choose from Roller, Pleated or Venetian blinds, each made to measure for the individual pane.

Are No Drill Blinds child safe?

We only supply blinds that meet UK child safety standards. Pleated and Venetian no-drill blinds are tensioned and hand operated with no loose cords. Roller blinds usually use a chain, so for children's rooms we may suggest pleated or Venetian instead.

What’s the difference between Perfect Fit, Simple Fit and INTU?

All are designed for no-drill installation. Perfect Fit and Simple Fit use slim frames from different manufacturers, while INTU uses discreet side channels with no visible frame.

Are no-drill blinds a good option for rented homes?

They can be, because there are no screws or drill holes in the window frames. The blinds still attach to the frames, so it's worth checking your tenancy agreement or asking your landlord first.

Do no-drill blinds work on tilt-and-turn windows?

Yes, tilt-and-turn windows are one of the most common places for no-drill blinds. Each blind is fitted to its own pane and stays in place when the window tilts or opens. We check the frame at your home visit to confirm the right system.

Can I have no-drill blinds on doors?

Yes, on uPVC doors with suitable frames, including bi-fold doors. For bi-folds with deep, square-edged recesses, our adhesive pleated option can work well. We check the frame at your free home visit before recommending a system.

Do no-drill blinds work on Velux or roof windows?

Not as a no-drill option. For Velux roof windows we fit Velux blinds, and these, like most roof window blinds, need drilling. We'll advise on the best option at your home visit.

How long do no-drill blinds take?

Usually 3–4 weeks from measuring to fitting. Home visits are usually available within 2–3 working days in our coverage area.
